Ghana's PURC Publishes October Tariffs with GRIDCo TSC 1 at 15.8925 GHp per kWh
Ghana's Public Utilities Regulatory Commission published electricity tariffs under section 19 of the PURC Act, 1997 (Act 538), with rates effective from 1 October 2026. The notice, made on 22 September 2026, replaces rates published in Gazette No. 262 of 23 July 2026 and keeps automatic indexation under Gazette No. 15 of 25 February 2011 until the next major review.
The First Schedule sets the Volta River Authority bulk generation charge at 63.7183 GHp/kWh and the composite bulk generation charge for VRA and independent power producers at 118.0280 GHp/kWh. Those are the weighted-average rates at which ECG, NEDCo and Enclave Power procure regulated-market power. The Second Schedule fixes GRIDCo's transmission service charges: TSC 1, which recovers network operating costs, at 15.8925 GHp/kWh, and TSC 2, which recovers transmission losses, at 4.8216 GHp/kWh.
Distribution service charges in the Third Schedule put DSC 1 at 30.6973 GHp/kWh, DSC 2 at 34.0044 GHp/kWh and the combined distribution wheeling charge at 64.7017 GHp/kWh. End-user residential energy charges in the Fourth Schedule include 89.9315 GHp/kWh for the exclusive 0-30 kWh lifeline block and 203.7509 GHp/kWh for 0-300 kWh. All published rates are in Ghana pesewas.
